High school students and their parents rallied at the Pennsylvania Capitol building Thursday, calling on state and local leaders to let fall sports go ahead.

The group that oversees Pennsylvania school sports is signaling again that it’s seriously considering moving ahead with the fall season. That’s despite the governor’s recommendation that schools bail on athletics until 2021.

The PIAA says it is still lobbying Governor Tom Wolf’s administration to change its recommendation that all high school sports be canceled for the fall semester.

Pointing to health concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding them, the Big Ten announced Tuesday afternoon that it is postponing fall 2020 sports, including football.
