Governor Tom Wolf plans to deliver his annual budget address on Feb. 2.

Pennsylvania’s state Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved legislation to distribute just over $900 million to aid schools and hospitality-related businesses hit hard by the coronavirus, as well as people struggling to pay rent or utility bills.

More than 400,000 Pennsylvanians are once again able to receive Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, the state Department of Labor announced on Jan. 22.

Governor Tom Wolf is calling on Congress to pass a pandemic relief package. He and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy met Monday calling the situation in their states, “dire.”

Experts predict the coronavirus pandemic will make Pennsylvania’s health and economic picture worse between now and when lawmakers are sworn in for the next session in January due to the coronavirus pandemic.
