Pennsylvania state lawmakers were sworn in Tuesday for the new legislative session. While it was a chaotic scene in the state Senate, the House saw more composed proceedings.

Allentown health officials say new covid cases are growing so quickly that staff cannot keep up and need help with contact tracing. As WLVR’s Jen Rehill reports, this comes amid a record-breaking surge in new cases across the state.

Pennsylvania broke another again for new coronavirus cases — 5,488 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 248,856. As WLVR News Director Jen Rehill reports, that’s the seventh record-breaking day since November 3rd.
