The leader of Bethlehem’s NAACP says the city’s police chief was right to step down from his post. The move followed controversy over a racist meme Mark Diluzio posted to Facebook last weekend.
Last month, hundreds rallied in Bethlehem, calling for justice and police reform as part of nationwide racial unrest. As WLVR’s Stephen Jiwanmall reports, the City is hoping a new committee leads to meaningful action.
Esther Lee is a long-time civil rights activist. The Bethlehem native was the first black woman to be elected to the School Board here in the Lehigh Valley in 1971, just a few years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed.
