Ten new electrical vehicle charging stations are ready to use and are located among  Bethlehem’s parking lots and garages. The city teamed up with the Bethlehem Parking Authority to install the stations which are part of the Blink and ChargePoint network. They’re available to all-electric vehicle drivers.

The project’s price tag was $55,000, 80% of which came from a grant from the Pennsylvania Environmental Protection Agency’s Driving PA Forward Level 2 EV Charging Stations grant, says Steven Fernstrom, executive director of the Bethlehem Parking Authority.

The rest of the money came from the city.

Bethlehem is also adding its first electric vehicle to the city fleet. It will be used by the city’s parking control operations.

In 2022, Bethlehem plans to add funding for a second EV to its budget.
