Local health officials are trying to reach people in the 1A vaccine group who still need a shot.

Listen to the story.

Lehigh County will assist anyone who needs to sign up, not just seniors.

Whether it’s because of technology, lack of transportation, or just not finding an appointment, J.R. Reed with the Area Agency on Aging says they’re ready to help.

“We’re kind of putting a last call out to try and assist, especially those, the elderly, the 60 and older. And we are willing to assist the under 65 who have a 1A, we’re just trying to get them scheduled,” Reed says.

The agency is compiling a list of people who qualify for vaccines and will help set up appointments, Reed says, and they’re also working directly with LVHN’s mobile clinic.

“We did one last week at the Cedar View apartment complex at the senior center there. We vaccinated like, I think, 148 people at that site,” Reed says.

The agency has another clinic coming up on April 15 at Lehigh Valley Active Life.

Lehigh and Northampton counties also teamed with Lanta to provide free door-to-door vaccine transportation for anyone who needs it.
