Gov. Tom Wolf is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel as winter weather conditions are expected to worsen throughout the day. He’s also asking employers to offer telework options if possible.

Due to severe weather conditions, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lowered the speed limit to 45 miles per hour on some Lehigh Valley highways including  Route 22, PA-33, and I-78.

PennDOT has increased its restrictions to Tier 4 of its Weather Event Vehicle-Restriction Plan.

Passenger vehicles towing trailers, motorhomes and motorcycles are not allowed on these roadways until restrictions are lifted.
