Northampton County’s annual grant program for nonprofits is narrowing its eligibility this year due to greater need and fewer funds.

This year, it’s only for applicants that did not receive federal funding during the pandemic. Nonprofits can apply for up to $15,000 for operational expenses and capital improvement projects. The money comes from table games revenue at Wind Creek Casino

“We usually have more of a pot to offer but unfortunately because everyone was impacted with the casino closed, our funds were impacted as well,” says Tina Smith, director of Community and Economic Development for Northampton County.

Smith says the county budgeted $300,000 for this program and the average amount given is $9,000, about 25 percent less than last year.

Nonprofits can apply until March 12. For more information, call 610-829-6500.
