Allentown and Bethlehem’s health bureaus will begin vaccinating health care workers Tuesday with a recently delivered shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Listen to the story.

Each bureau is scheduling appointments for the vaccines with Allentown running point in Lehigh and Bethlehem in Northampton County. Bethlehem and Allentown health officials are working together with Lehigh Valley and St. Luke’s University health networks on the effort.

The initial allotment will go to priority groups in accordance with CDC and state guidelines. Among those at the top of the list are home health care workers, school nurses, primary care physicians and EMS professionals. Also included are  dermatologists, dentists and eye doctors.

Health care providers can contact either the Allentown or Bethlehem Health Bureau directly to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
