$108 million in federal housing assistance for Pa. renters and homeowners was never delivered

More than one hundred million dollars in federal COVID relief meant for homeowners and renters, never made it into their hands. It was given to Pennsylvania as part of the CARES Act, but rules created around the money made it difficult to access. And it ultimately ended up going to the state Department of Corrections. 

To explain how it all happened, WLVR’S Haden Mitman spoke with Sarah Anne Hughes of Spotlight PA, an independent, non-partisan newsroom, covering state government. Hughes began the conversion with a refresher on what the funds were originally set aside for.
