Pennsylvania sees the largest number of coronavirus cases since late-July

Pennsylvania reported 1,100 new coronavirus cases Today. It marks the highest number of cases since late July.

The largest increases in new case numbers are in Allegheny, Philadelphia and York counties. 

20 new deaths today brings the statewide to more than 7,700.

This week’s steady rise in cases comes amid the first days of back-to-school classes in the state, as some students return to in-person learning. 

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state is more than 136,000 since the onset of the pandemic.
