Four students on the Lafayette College campus have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Easton college began its fall semester this week with remote classes, but more than 600 students are living there – including international students and others working on academic research.

Lafayette on its website said all four students were asymptomatic and have been placed in housing units designated for isolation.

Twenty-six people who had close contact with them have been told to quarantine for two weeks.

All students arriving on campus are being tested.

The school’s director of health services says the prevalence of the virus in returning students is far lower than expected.
