Pennsylvania coronavirus cases jump nearly 10% since start of July, Lehigh Valley cases grow 4%

Pennsylvania reported more than 15-hundred new coronavirus cases over the weekend, bringing the statewide total of confirmed and probable cases to nearly 95-thousand. Overall, Pennsylvania’s seen a nearly 10-percent increase in cases since July 1st.
New cases continue to be concentrated in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas – with significant spikes among young people ages 19 to 24, according to the state Health Department.
The Lehigh Valley has fared somewhat better than those areas, with a 4-percent hike in cases since the beginning of the month.
Lehigh and Northampton counties reported 66 new cases over the weekend, bringing the Valley’s total to nearly 8-thousand.
