A winner in a last-minute Republican primary race for 132nd district in Allentown has been named.

Allentown small business owner Michael McCreary decided to run a write-in campaign for the state House district just two weeks prior to election day – because he didn’t agree with how the government was making decisions during the pandemic.

So Incumbent Democrat Mike Schlossberg then decided to run against McCreary for the GOP nomination with his own write-in campaign.

And McCreary won. According to the candidates, he received 609 votes to Schlossberg’s 133.

In response, McCreary says imagine what he can do in two years after what he did in two weeks.

Schlossberg says he is – quote “weirdly happy” that he won those Republican votes – as a progressive democrat.

The candidates face off again in November.
