If you live in counties still in the “red” phase, you’ll have to celebrate mom digitally

As 24 of Pennsylvania’s north-central and northwestern counties prepare to move into the “yellow” phase of relief from coronavirus restrictions, state Health Secretary Rachel Levine says it’s ok for residents of those counties to celebrate Mother’s Day in-person.

However, if you live in counties still in the “red” phase of restrictions, you’ll have to celebrate mom digitally.

“The safest thing you can do for yourself, the safest thing you can do for your mother, and your family and your community is to do that visit virtually,” said Levine.

Levine says visitations are still prohibited in long-term care facilities and nursing homes, even for counties in the “yellow” phase.
