As summer weather arrives, Pennsylvanians should think twice before visiting the Jersey Shore.
That’s the advice coming from State Health Secretary Rachel Levine, who says residents should avoid travelling to the beaches.
Although there are no state-to-state travel restrictions, Levine says if people flock to these beach towns, it will be difficult to maintain social distancing.
“I know it’s tempting given warm weather that will hopefully be coming soon, but going into New Jersey can have risks because New Jersey has had a very high incidence of COVID-19,” said Levine.
Most beaches remain closed in New Jersey and Gov. Phil Murphy says it’s too soon to tell if they will be reopened by Memorial Day Weekend.
