Health is a topic that touches everyone, regardless of economic or social background. The Future of Healthcare was the focus of the latest installment of Mornings at Lehigh Valley Public Media.

WLVR’S Brittany Sweeney spoke to local leaders about what that future looks like for all of us.

Consolidation, the cost of healthcare and how to provide quality care for that affordable price are all part of a candid conversation with region healthcare CEO’s.

The panel included Dr. Stephen Klasko — President Of Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University and CEO of Jefferson Health, Mr. Patrick Gavin President and CEO of New Jersey’s Hunterdon Healthcare, and Dr. Brian Nester, President and CEO of Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Dr. Nester of LVHN touched upon the price tag that goes along with receiving care.

“We have an affordability crisis in America.  American Hospital Association says that should be full blown in 2013, in our market it’s already unaffordable,” Nester

Also discussed was how artificial intelligence will play a role in healthcare… as well as what the merger of local hospitals means to you as the patient.

You can watch the full conversation at 8:00 tonight on PBS39 or online at
